Ted Williams Archive

Ted Williams (not to be confused with the baseball player) is a freelance environmental writer who does the conservation column for Fly Rod & Reel magazine and is regularly featured in magazines such as Audubon. Williams, who is known for his emphasis on carefully researched data and a direct, no-nonsense style of writing, is arguably the best investigative environmental writer in America today. He has done more good for sportsmen, fish and game, and unspoiled natural treasures than nearly everyone else in the game. As might be expected, he is summarily hated by the Far Right, industry lobbies, Property Rights and "Wise-Use" zealots, and so-called "sportsmen" who are more interested in filling their freezers today than preserving fish and game for their children. But to those who are environmentally literate and less selfish, he is an inspiration and a rare voice of reason. This page is devoted to archiving his many informative and inspiring works which are reprinted with his gracious permission.
